Thinking of joining us? Here are some of the benefits of joining the Wood fuel Group:-

Free fuel – we operate a “logs for labour” approach to our group, meaning you come along to one of the sessions in the woods, help with the management of the woodland and in return take home a share of the timber for fuel. All members of the group will have the opportunity to come along to as many sessions as spaces permit and we are expanding the number of sessions as the group grows.

Work in the wood – What could be better than sharing a day in the woodlands with a group of like-minded people, meeting new friends and making a real difference to the management of the woodland, the community and the environment.

Well being – Taking time away from our normal routines to work in the natural environment is a great way to relieve stress, breathe in the fresh air and exercise yourself all at the same time. Medically and mentally the benefits of spending time in woodlands is becoming increasingly recognized.

Skills – Learning new skills, appreciating the wildlife and the environmental benefits the woodland brings. Many of our members share a love for nature and all things natural. We develop our wildlife, woodland management skills and knowledge of the use of wood as a fuel through training sessions, guests and sharing the knowledge of our members.
