Foxley Prep Session 18th Sept
There will be a preparation session at Foxley Woods on Thursday 18th September. We aim to get the site ready for our first woodland management session. We need to clear the rampant vegetation from the loading area, repair some of the ATV tracks, create some new ride crossings and erect the signposts around the area. This session would benefit from many hands to spread the load. Please book onto the session via the website if you can help, even if it just for a couple of hours.

The Hub Update
As the summer starts to melt into Autumn all thoughts at The Hub turn to Christmas. I know it’s a little scary and some don’t like to talk about it this early in the year, but our Christmas craft items have become very popular with the local community and provide important income for the group.
Some of the regular TOITW attendees will know that plans are already in place and in fact some items are already being put together. To manage the run-up to the season and to meet the orders we already know about, we have created a plan which includes several TOT (Time out Tuesday) hub sessions to increase the time we have to make the items.
We have created several sessions on the booking system and have tried to give more detail on what we plan to be doing on specific sessions.
There are a couple of important things to consider along with the creation of our items – Ashby WI plan to attend the TOITW sessions in Oct/Nov to both make items for themselves and to lend a hand making our stock. The second is our attendance at Rosliston Forestry Centre Christmas Market on the 29/30th November. Along with making snowmen with the public under the guise of “Do you want to build a Snowman”, we will be selling a range of items we plan to make – Reindeer, stars, Log trees and Wreath bases. The two days of the market are also registered on the booking system for anyone who can help staff the stall with us.
The help of members during the lead-up to Christmas has been fantastic in the past. The atmosphere and shared time together making the Hub a special place to be. If you can spare some time to attend any of the sessions, please book on and if you have any questions drop us a line.

Woodland Management Session Dates
Woodland Management session dates are released a month at a time for members to book on to, sessions will be released on the following schedule:

November 2025
- Available to Multi-skilled Woodland Management members from 6pm 15th September

December 2025
- Available to Multi-skilled Woodland Management members from 6pm 15th October
- Available to all Woodland Management members from 6pm 1st November
Multi-skilled members get early access to ensure the sessions are viable. Multi-skilled members are those members who have multiple skills that are required to run a session, i.e. First Aid and ATV Driver, Session Lead and First Aid, Clearing saw and First Aid, etc. When the sessions are available to multi-skilled members there will be no waiting list available. When the required multi-skilled spaces have been filled other multi-skilled members will need to wait until the sessions have been released to all members. The waiting list will then be available. If the session you want is full please book on to the waiting list, as this allows the team to assess the demand for places and add sessions as required (if possible).
A list of all October to December Woodland Management data can be found in the Members Information and Announcements section of the website.
